A man was beaten to death allegedly by villagers for trying to steal cattle in Lehapur area, police said.
Prahlad (35) was killed during clash with one Sunder Pasi and his aides when he allegedly attempted to steal goats from the latter's farm in Kathela village yesterday, it said.
Police said Prahlad's three accomplices managed to escape from the spot.
Station Officer Vinay Gautam said the body had been sent for postmortem.
He said the victim was a history sheeter and involved in other cases as well.
