A 32-year-old man allegedly
committed suicide by setting himself afire after an argument with his wife in Gadhwala village here, police said today.
One Dharajeet, in a drunk state, poured kerosene oil on himself and set afire after a quarrel with his wife yesterday, SHO of Pilua police station, Ramesh Chandra Tiwari said.
The neighbours rushed to douse the fire after Dharajeet's wife raised alarm, he said, adding that he was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Postmortem of the body was conducted and it was handed over to the family of the deceased, Tiwari said.
Dharajeet was reportedly addicted to drinking and gambling which led to frequent quarrels between the couple, police added.
