Man shot dead by militants in Kashmir

Suspected militants tonight shot dead a person in Sopore township of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.

Fayaz Ahmad Rather was fired upon by unknown militants near his residence at Tragpora Saidpora in Sopore, a police official said.

Rather was critically injured and rushed to a hospital in Baramulla but was declared brought dead by the doctors there, the official said.
