Maoist surrenders in Khunti
A Maoist today
surrendered before the Director General of Police, Jharkhand, Rajeev Kumar at a function in Rania of Khunti district.
Anil Singh, the surrendered CPI(Maoist) man gave himself up and also deposited a carbine and a rifle before Kumar.
The DGP was in Rania to take part in a 'Janata Durbar' as part of community policing.
Accompanied by senior police officials, Kumar handed over a cheque of Rs. 50,000 to Singh under government's surrender policy.
