Matthew Weiner sets 'Mad Men' reunion for 'The Romanoffs'

Matthew Weiner has set up a team for his forthcoming anthology, "The Romanoffs", which includes several writers and producers from his uber popular drama "Mad Men".

The 52-year-old writer is set to reunite with 13 producers, writers, casting directors and costume designers from the acclaimed AMC series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Some of the names include writers and producers, Semi Chellas, Blake McCormick, Andre Jacquemetton and Maria Jacquemetton, director of photography Chris Manley, production designers Henry Dunn and Christopher Brown, and hair and makeup heads Theraesa Rivers and Lana Horochowski.

The casting team includes Emmy winners Carrie Audino, Laura Schiff and Kendra Clark.
 

Famed "Mad Men" costume designer Janie Bryant has also been roped in, who will work alongside Wendy Chuck from the Oscar-winning film "Spotlight".

Weiner will direct all eight episodes of the series, which features two "Mad Men" alums Christina Hendricks and John Slattery, along with Isabelle Huppert, Marthe Keller, Aaron Eckhart, Jack Huston and Amanda Peet.

"It's an honour to be working with these exceptional storytellers and collaborators - many of whom I know from 'Mad Men' - and all of whom are wonderful artistes with incredible vision. We are all looking forward to bringing this unique project to life," he said.

"The Romanoffs" airs on Amazon in 2018.
