The maximum temperatures across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh continued to hover below normal level for the second consecutive day today following rains at some places.
Union Territory Chandigarh had overcast conditions during the day and light showers lashed the city this evening, ending a prolonged dry spell.
The maximum temperature here settled at 33.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, the MeT report said.

In Punjab, maximum temperature in Amritsar settled at 32.6 deg Celsius, down two notches as the city gauged 5.9 cm rainfall during the day.
Ludhiana, which also witnessed light rains during the day, recorded a maximum of 30.7 deg C, down three degrees.
Patiala's recorded a high of 35 deg C.
In Haryana, Mercury in Ambala, which received a drizzle, settled at 33 deg C, down one notch, while Karnal recorded a high of 33.6 deg C.
Hisar remained the hottest place at 36.7 deg C.
The weather department forecast said light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the two states over the next two days.
