Medium sugar declines on poor offtake

Medium sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to poor offtake from stockists and bulk consumers amid adequate stock positions.

Meanwhile, small sugar prices ended mixed on alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Medium sugar (M-30) dipped by Rs 18 to Rs 3,682/3,852 per quintal from last weekend's level of Rs 3,700/3,852.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,622/3,742 against Rs 3,626/3,735.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,622/3,742 (Rs 3,626/3,735).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,682/3,852 (Rs 3,700/3,852).
