Select base metals slip on poor offtake

Select base metals, including copper, brass sheet cuttings, tin and nickel, slipped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on poor buying by stockists amid reduced demand from industrial users on the back of weak global cues.

However, brass utensils scrap regained following good demand from industrial users.

Nickel prices fell by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 710 from Thursday's close of Rs 725 and tin slipped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,320 as compared Rs 1,325 yesterday.

Copper armiture edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 358 as against Rs 360 previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and brass sheet cuttings softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 372, Rs 367, Rs 400 and Rs 271 respectively.
 

However, brass utensils scrap inched up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 267.
