Medium sugar declines on sustained selling

Medium sugar prices declined further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on sustained selling by stockists amidst poor demand from bulk consumers.

Meanwhile, small sugar ruled stable in the absence of any largescale buying activity.

Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 4/13 per quintal to Rs 2,526/2,652 per quintal from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,530/2,665 yesterday.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 2,420/2,551 per quintal.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,420/2,551 (Rs 2,420/2,551).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,526/2,652 (Rs 2,530/2,665).
