Medium sugar prices recovered modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on fresh demand from stockists and retailers.
While, small sugar declined on subdued offtake from stockist and bulk consumers.
Medium sugar (M-30) gained by Rs 8 per quintal to Rs 2,600/2,742 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,592/2,742.
However, small sugar (S-30) slid by Rs 10 to Rs 2,532/2,622 as compared to Rs 2,532/2,632 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,600/2,742 (Rs 2,592/2,742).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,532/2,622 (Rs 2,532/2,632).
