Medium sugar rises on firm demand

Medium sugar prices rose further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to firm demand from stockists and retailers.

While, small sugar ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Medium sugar (M-30) gained by Rs 4/20 per quintal to Rs 3,756/3,892 from Tuesday's close of Rs 3,752/3,872.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,622/3,785 per quintal.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,662/3,785 (Rs 3,662/3,785)

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,756/3,892 (Rs 3,752/3,872).
