Medium sugar prices weakened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lower demand from stockists and retailers amidst ample supply from producing regions.
While small sugar ended mixed owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Medium sugar (M-30) prices moved down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,706/3,882 from last Saturday's close at Rs 3,712/3,882.
Small sugar (S-30) prices were quoted at Rs 3,620/3,700 as against Rs 3,600/3,710 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,620/3,700 (Rs 3,600/3,710).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,706/3,882 (Rs 3,712/3,882).
