Mentha oil down by 0.4% on profit-booking

Muted demand from consuming industries also affected prices

Amid profit-booking by participants at prevailing levels, mentha oil prices were down 0.38% to Rs 898.50 per kg in futures trading today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December fell by Rs 3.40, or 0.38%, to Rs 898.50 per kg, in a business turnover of 90 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January 2016 weakened by Rs 2.90, or 0.32%, to Rs 911 per kg in nine lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by traders at existing levels, muted demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly led to fall in mentha oil prices at the futures trade.
