Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 9.70 to Rs 671.30 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced positions amid high supply pressure in the spot market against subdued industrial demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September fell by Rs 9.70, or 1.42%, to Rs 671.30 per kg, with a business turnover of Rs 466 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October declined by Rs 9.10, or 1.31%, to Rs 682 per kg in 184 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to high supply pressure amid weak industrial demand.
Besides, higher output estimates too weighed on prices, they said.
