Mentha oil prices softened by 0.68 per cent to Rs 932.70 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions owing to slackened demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions weighed on mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 6.40, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 932.70 per kg in a business turnover of 188 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in August shed Rs 4.80, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 945.50 per kg in 20 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market against ample stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
