: Minister for social welfare and Noon meal scheme P Valarmthi today visited noon meal centres in schools, inspected the attendance register and other records to confirm if all children were fed properly.
The Minister also served Noon meal to students after tasting them, an official release said
The release claimed all 1,444 noon meal centres in the district were open today, the children fed and that only 400 of the 3673 noon meal workers participated in the strike.

About 400 noon meal centre workers participated in the demonstration in front of the collectorate to press for their demand.
