Minor raped in Himachal Pradesh, accused held

A three-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her relative near Haripur village, around 50 km from here, today, the police said.

The accused was arrested in the evening, a spokesperson of Dharamsala police said.

A case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) has been registered against the accused, the SSP of Kangra Santosh Patial said.

The girl was admitted to a hospital and after treatment and medical examination, she was discharged, the police said, adding further investigation into the case is underway.
