Minor reshuffle in IPS cadre in West Bengal

In a minor reshuffle in the IPS cadre, the West Bengal government today made Siddh Nath Gupta the new ADG and IGP of the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

Vishal Garg, who was the additional CP -V of Kolkata Police was made the new IGP of the IB, a notification issued by the government said.

Sanjay Chandaer, who was the ADG and IGP IB, was made the new ADG Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) with additional charge of ADG (Establishment), it added.

Kallol Ganai, the IGP Murshidabad Range was named as the IGP of Jalpaiguri Range.

"Ganai will look after Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar districts also," the notification said.

 

Ganai replaced Rajesh Kumar Yadav, who was made the DIG Cyber Crime of the state CID, it added.

Dr Pranav Kumar, the DIG training-cum-principal PTC, Barrackpore, was made the new DIG of Murshidabad Range while Dipankar Bhattacharyya came in his place, it said.

Bhattacharyya was the DIG Armed Police (AP) Durgapur.
