Two minors drowned in a well and their mother who tried to save her children also died after she slipped in it at Pachpadra of Barmer district of Rajasthan, police said today.
Kamlesh (8) and Chandraram (10), residents of Akadali Dhansingh village in Barmer, had gone to fetch water from the well yesterday when the incident took place, Pachpadra police station SHO Jaikishan Soni told PTI.
The children fell into the well one after the other in order and their Pempo Devi (35) also fell while trying to save her children after hearing their screams for help, he said.
Soni said that police reached the spot after the villagers informed them and fished out the bodies.
The bodies were handed over to the family members after post mortem, the SHO said.
