Mother-daughter duo killed in fire

An elderly woman and her daughter were killed in a fire that broke out at a garment shop and spread into their house in Jawhar here today, police said.

The blaze that occurred at the shop in Tarpa Chowk area at around 4 AM and soon engulfed the house adjoining it, Jawhar police station inspector Ankush Adhav said.

The deceased were identified as Aisha Qureshi (80) and Mayurin Qureshi (60) and their bodies have been sent for postmortem, the official said.
