Mothers of children who secure 75 per cent marks or more in board examinations of Uttarakhand will be honoured with Kamla Nehru Award, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today said.
Making the announcement at a function organised by School Education Department here, Bahuguna said parents especially mothers play a great role in the education of their children and the growth of their personalities.
A cash reward will also be given to such mothers besides the award, he said.
The chief minister also said the amount given as reward to meritorious students will be doubled.
He asked parents to encourage their children to pursue a career as per their own aptitude and choice.
