Tharoor asks children to hone creativity

Children should develop their creativity and not restrict themselves to studies and examinations, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor said here today.
The minister, while inaugurating the "Children's Assembly and Integration camp" on occasion of the 124th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru at the National Bal Bhavan here, also adviced them to enjoy their creative expressions.
"Today is a day of expressions, so you all should enjoy your creative expressions... Make handicrafts, dance, sing and paint. School and childhood is not all about examinations and studies... You must also develop your creativity," he said.

The theme of the week-long camp is "celebrating children's creative expressions".
Tharoor paid a floral tribute to Nehru and said that the children, who visited the camp from various states, would learn a lot from each other.
"We all must grow and become a true Indian," he said.
Apart from Tharoor, theatre personality and daughter of Bollywood actor Shahi Kapoor, Sanjana Kapoor was also present at the event in which over 500 children participated.
