Two policemen and their unidentified accomplice allegedly robbed a couple of Rs 10,500 and a gold chain in Pithampur industrial area here.

They also forced the husband to strip and shot a video, according to the complaint.

Constables Mohan Bodana (34) and Shivendra (30) were suspended following the complaint today, superintendent of police (SP) Virendra Singh said, adding that police were looking for the duo as well as the third person involved in the crime.

Complainant Rahul Gautam and his wife were going to Barwani from Indore last night when the incident took place.

As Gautam stopped his car by the roadside to relieve himself, the trio appeared on a motorcycle and asked him why did he stop.

The accused then allegedly dragged him out of the car and snatched away his wallet containing Rs 10,500 and a gold chain, the SP said.

When his six months pregnant wife came to his rescue, the accused abused her and manhandled her.

The accused also stripped him and shot a video, and threatened to circulate the video if he filed a complaint about the robbery, Gautam said in the complaint.

SP Singh said the accused constables were attached to Sector 1 police station of Pithampur. Police were looking for the duo as well as their unidentified accomplice, he said.
