In a show of honesty a police head constable safely returned a bag containing Rs 50,000 cash left behind by a 66-year-old retired CRPF personnel at the Sri Krishna Janmasthan (SKJ) here.
Head Constable Jay Prakash, posted at SKJ, found the bag at a parking lot on October 23. There was Rs 50,000 cash, a identity (ID) card and some clothes in it, Superintendent of Police (Security) Siddharth Verma said today.
But as the card did not have a cell phone number, the owner could not be traced instantly, he said, adding that the constable deposited the bag along with its contents at the Dharm Nagar police station.

The police, based on details available, contacted the bag's owner Madan Mohan Sharma, a resident of Dharm Nagar in north Tripura, and asked him to collect it, the SP said.
Yesterday, Sharma reached here to collect his bag. "He was in tears, and thanked Prakash and the Mathura police," the officer said.
"We are proud of such police personnel and expect others to present suchcommitted andexemplary services to those visiting the two shrines of SKJ," the SP said.
He said that the Prakash's name has been reccomeded for a reward to the Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police.
