Jeera prices fell 0.83 per cent to Rs 19,110 per quintal in futures trade today as traders cut down their positions amid easing demand at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in October fell by Rs 160, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 19,110 per quintal with an open interest of 5,226 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November contracts traded lower by Rs 140, or 0.72 per cent to Rs 19,200 per quintal in 9,507 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly weighed on jeera prices at futures trade.
