Nagaland Parliamentary Secy plants 25,000 saplings

In a move to save greeneries, Nagaland's Parliamentary Secretary for Planning & Coordination, Evaluation & Monitoring Cell Neiba Kronu has initiated massive plantation drive at Pfutsero Assembly Constituency under Phek district.

Kronu has planted over 25,000 tree saplings of varied species including ornamental plants, palm, cherry, wild apple and peach etc along over 50 km stretch along the road sides in his Constituency.

Kronu said such initiatives would not only help in protection of the environment from degradation but will also beautify the area and also protect the soil from erosion and landslides.

Moreover, he said that once the trees grow up, travelers along the route can enjoy the shed and also the fruits.
 

He said that the plantation drive has been supported by the respective villages along road sides and churches and general public.
