The Centre will soon take up all the priority and pending projects in Nagaland for its early completion.

This was conveyed by Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh to Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang here at a meeting.

Singh informed Zeliang that the DoNER Ministry is trying to take up all the priority projects submitted by the state government and pending projects will be taken up soon.

He said there are some technical issues relating to some projects which are also sought to be cleared soon.

The Minister discussed with the Chief Minister the DoNER Ministry's Non-Lapseable Central Pool of Resource projects in the state and also his scheduled visit to Malaysia beginning tomorrow.

In order to overcome the constraint of funds and expedite the construction of roads, Singh said some of the rural roads are being handed over to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to be taken up under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

The DoNER Ministry will, however, continue to do the follow up for expeditious completion of these road projects, he added.

Zeliang informed Singh that he will be leaving for Malaysia tomorrow to attend an international meet, accompanied by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu.

Zeliang said he looks forward to engage the delegates from other countries to promote the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Act East' policy.
