Passengers of the Udhgamandalam-Coonoor train had a miraculous escape today after a huge tree along the track got uprooted in strong winds and just missed the moving train, with just one of its branches brushing against the engine, railway sources said.
The branch fell on the engine between Ketti and Aruvangadu railway stations, they said.
There was a 15 minute delay as workers removed the branches and the train later resumed its ownward journey, the sources said.
