Naval warships INS Airavat and INS Khukri visit Kolkata

As part of the Navy Day celebrations, Naval warships INS Airavat and INS Khukri today visited Kolkata.

Altogether 50 countries would participate in the Navy Day celebrations, scheduled to be held in Vishakhapatnam on December 4.

The President would review the event and the Prime Minister is likely to be present there, stated Naval Officer-in-Charge, Commodore Ravi Ahluwalia.

Briefing the media, Cmdr. Ahluwalia said in order to celebrate the Navy Day, the ships visit all other ports where they are not based.

INS Khukri and INS Airavat are mainly based in Vishakhapatnam. But, during the Navy Day celebrations, they visit all other ports.
 

Both INS Airavat and INS Khukri have been berthed at the Khidderpore Docks and were open to school children today.

Tomorrow and day after, they would be open to the general public. For entry to the Khidderpore Docks, everyone has to carry their photo ID cards along with a photocopy.
