Adopting a wait-and-watch approach over its alliance with Janata Parivar, a recently formed union of six offshoots of erstwhile Janata Dal ahead of Bihar Assembly polls scheduled later this year, CPI today said it has "neither opened the dialogue, nor closed it".
Adding that there were pressure on it to form "all out unity" against BJP, CPI, however, maintained it can not join hands with the Congress for its policies only helped BJP attain power at Centre.
"We have to see whether the RJD, JD (U) wants to be with the Congress or with the Left that is to be decided.
"We have neither opened the dialogue nor closed it. We would like to see...Wait and see. And we have our own understanding about the Left platform also. That is also to be worked out," CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy told PTI on the sidelines of party's two-day national executive meeting which got underway today.
Reddy said the party also decided to "unleash" agitation along with other communist outfits against the anti-people policies and communal policies of the government during the meeting participated by 33 members.
"We want to create an atmosphere by which the intellectual in the country, the writers, historians, artists, the minorities should get confidence that the Constitutional rights that are provided to them will be implemented in the country. We want to say that the Left is with them in the fight," he said adding preliminary discussion was held on assembly elections for Assam, Kerala and West Bengal.
He added strengthening CPI's organizational base was another issue on the agenda for the meeting.
The CPI also took jibe at the BJP Government for introducing "anti-people" policies during the first year of its formation.
