Anu Lama, Niru Thapa struck one each as Nepal blanked Maldives 2-0 for their second successive win that brightened their final prospects in the women's football tournament of the 12th South Asian Games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here today.
Nepal's lead came in the 36th minute with Sabitra in action, feeding a calculated ball to Anu Lama for her second goal of the tournament.
The decisive goal came in the 89th minute when Niru Thapa scored following a lapse in the Maldivian defence, resulting in a comfortable 2-0 win.

Nepal's coach Dhruba Bahadur expressed his satisfaction over the result claiming that they are confident of winning against India and returning home with the gold medal.
Nepal had earlier on Friday beaten Bangladesh 3-0 to kick off the women's football in Shillong.
