A Nepalese gems trader was arrested for illegally carrying foreign currency at Rupiadeeh checkpost here.
Assistant Commandant of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Abhinav Kashyap said today that Anipal Pandey of Nepal's Kalikot district was allegedly found carrying USD 24250 yesterday.
When questioned, Pandey said that he was on his way to purchase precious stones from Jaipur and was carrying the currency for the purchases, Kashyap said.
In another case, SSB personnel yesterday nabbed a youth and two children carrying foreign-made cosmetics worth lakhs of rupees and handed them over to the customs department.
