News should be impartial as it can influence the society in undesirable ways, UP Minister of Mines Gayatri Prasad Prajapati said here today.
"It (news) should not try to malign the image of any person or institution," he said, while speaking at a programme organised by Patrakar Association of Amethi at Government Girls College, Amethi.
The Minister appealed to the press to be impartial regarding publishing some news as it may influence the society in different way.
He assured the reporters that their issues would be conveyed to the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Praising the Akhilesh government in the state for its performance, Prajapati said the state government was doing its best to provide power supply to all despite power production and supply being under the Centre.
The District Magistrate Jagat Raj Tripathi, executive editor of a Hindi daily, and other officials and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
