A delegation of Jamiat-Ulama-i-Hind leaders today met Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and asked them to ensure speedy approval of their plan to construct houses for the victims of the recent violence in Muzaffarnagar.
A delegation led by Jamiat President Maulana Arshad Madni drew the SP leaders' attention towards the objection by the district administration over their plans to construct 100 houses in Muzaffarnagar for riot victims, sources said.
Jamiat wanted to construct houses for riot victims in Khampur and Basi villages, but the sub-divisional magistrate served a notice on them to stop the work.

The charge by the administration that the houses were meant for people from the neighbouring districts was not correct, the Jamiat representatives said.
The CM assured the delegation that he would look into the matter.
Communal clashes last month in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas claimed 62 lives and displaced over 40,000 people.
