Nickel prices went up by 1.07 per cent to Rs 699.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised their bets in the evening session, tracking a firm trend at spot market on uptick in demand from consuming industries.
The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of "Diwali Balipratipada".
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in October rose by Rs 7.40, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 699.80 per kg, in a business turnover of 2,733 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 6.70, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 704.40 per kg in 2,141 lots.
Analysts said increasing of positions by participants following rising demand from consuming industries particularly alloy-makers in the spot market mainly attributed the rise in nickel prices at futures trade.
