NMC demands declaration of May Day as gazetted holiday

The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded declaration of May Day as a gazetted holiday throughout the country under the Negotiable Instrument Act.

The declaration of May Day as a gazetted holiday will be a befitting recognition of the contribution of the working class in all-round development of the state, NMC president Subash Shastri said.

"We demand declaration of May Day as a gazetted holiday throughout the country under the Negotiable Instrument Act," he said.

The state of Jammu and Kashsmir should also declare May Day as a gazetted holiday.
