Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in Uttar Pradesh with Allahabad sizzling at 47.2 degree Celsius.
Met office said weather was mainly dry today and heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut divisions.
Temperature was markedly above normal in faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra and Meerut divisions and appreciably above normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Highest maximum temperature over the state was 47.2 degree Celsius recorded at Allahabad.
A MeT department forecast said similar conditions would prevail over the state with weather remaining mainly dry.
