NSL inaugurates cotton seed processing plant in Maharashtra

Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd (NSL) today inaugurated a cotton seed delinting and processing plant near Aurangabad in Maharashtra.

"The plant has integrated cotton delinting, processing and packaging facilities spread across 24 acres. It has cotton delinting capacity of 3 tonnes of seeds per hour and processing capacity of 9 tonnes per hour," the company said in a statement.

In delinting, all impurities are removed from the cotton seed to prepare it for processing.

Built at a cost of Rs 100 crore, the new plant has a storage space of 2,50,000 square feet and drying platforms of 35,000 square feet. Nuziveedu Seeds operates the highest number of processing plants in 17 locations across the country.
 

Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil inaugurated the plant in the presence of NSL Group Managing Director and Chairman Mandava Prabhakar Rao, the statement added.
