On bail in molestation case, man stabs complainant to death

A man, who was jailed in connection with a molestation case and was released on bail yesterday, turned up at the house of the complainant, a 18-year-old girl, early this morning and stabbed her to death.

Police said the accused, Ayub Khan, reached the girl's residence in Welcome area of north-east Delhi around 6.30 AM and stabbed her to death.

Ayub, who was arrested in July following the molestation complaint and lodged in Tihar Jail, came out of prison yesterday, police said.

"Ayub reached the girl's residence around 6.30 AM and starting stabbing her until she lay unconscious. Her mother, who heard her screams, rushed to save her. He also attacked her mother. After the incident, he fled the spot," said a senior police officer.
 

He was, however, arrested later. "We have registered a case under appropriate section of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation is on," the officer added.
