One dead, 3 injured in road accident

One person was killed and three others were injured in a collision between a vehicle and truck on NH55 near Mohananpur village in Bihar's Begusarai district today, a police officer said.

The deceased identified as Ramhit Verma (40) who is a resident of Dharampur village, was going to Begusarai from Garkuda when the vehicle collided with a truck coming from opposite direction, Station House Officer of Mufassil police station Ashok Mandal said.

Verma died on the spot while three others were injured, the SHO said.

The body has been sent to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and the injured for treatment in a private clinic, the SHO said.
 

The truck has been seized while the driver managed to escape, Mandal said.
