One died after consuming spurious liquor

A 40-year-old man died after consuming liquor from a TASMAC shop at Mukoodal in Tirunelveli district and another had been admitted to hospital in a serious condition after consuming liquor from the same out let, police said.

Shangmugam died while Ramakrishnan (50) had been admitted to Palayamkottai Government Hospital in a serious condition after they consumed the liquor.

Meanwhile, a 81-year-old man was arrested for allegedly selling spurious liquor and seized from him 99 bottles of spurious liquor, police said.
