One person was arrested here today after he called up a Guwahati-based TV channel saying a bomb blast will target Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, police said.
"We have arrested Khajin Haloi after we traced that he was the person who made the call to the TV channel yesterday," East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang told PTI.
Police is yet to find out whether he made a hoax call or he is himself involved in militant activities.
He said the Koria Bijolighat resident in Nalbari district was arrested from Rynjah area in the city this evening.
The mobile phone he used to make the call was also seized and the call details proved the call.
Police said Haloi made the call to the news channel yesterday and reportedly told it that Gogoi's meeting would be bombed very soon.
