Reports of losses due to strike misleading: UP govt

The Uttar Pradesh government today said the reports of losses to the tune of crore of rupees due to indefinite strike by the state employees was "misleading".

A government spokesman said here that the commercial tax, stamp and registration and excise were the main source of revenue and there was no decline in receipts of these departments.

He said, except these departments, excluding some districts, so far there was no decline in revenue receipts in other departments as well.
