One killed in lightning in J'khand

One person was killed in lightning strike today at Lohardaga in Jharkhand, where Palamau was the hottest place at 41.4 degrees Celsius.

A 60-year-old man was killed by the thunderbolt at a village under Kisko police station in Lohardaga, district police said.

Ranchi recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius after the rainfall yesterday, while steel city Jamshedpur recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius, a MeT official said.

Temperatures at Simdega, Latehar, Jamtara and Khunti ranged between 36 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, the source said.

The forecast for the next 24 hours is partly cloudy sky with likely rain or thundershower at a few places, the official added.
