Heavy rains, squall, hailstorm during next 3 days: HP MeT

A warning of heavy rains, squall and hailstorm in several parts of Himachal Pradesh during the next three days was issued by the MeT department today.

Hailstorm, squall and snowfall are considered harmful for stone fruit crop which is in the flowering stage and standing wheat crop in the lowers hills, ready for harvesting.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains lashed several parts of Himachal and sky remained heavily overcast, causing marginal drop in the daily maximum temperature.

Dalhousie was wettest in the region with 17 mm rains, followed by Manali 16mm, Dharamsala 12.4 mm, Sarahan 11 mm, Kalatop 10 mm, Theog and Udaipur 8 mm, Kufri 4 mm and Shimla 3 mm.
 

The maximum temperature dropped to 27 degrees at Una against 30.5 degrees yesterday while Nahan recorded a high of 25.3 degrees followed by Kangra 24 degrees, Solan 21 degrees, Sundernagar and Dharamsala 20.9 degrees, Bhuntar 15.6 degrees, Shimla 15.3 degrees, Kalpa 11 degrees and Manali 10.4 degrees Celsius.

There was no significant change in minimum temperatures and Keylong was coldest with a low of 0.4 degree, followed by Kalpa 4.4 degrees, Manali 5.4 degrees, Shimla 9 degrees, Dharamsala 10.4 degrees, Solan 11.5 degrees, Bhuntar 12 degrees, Palampur 12.5 degrees, Sundernagar 14 degrees, Nahan 16.7 degrees and Una 17 degrees C.
