Amidst opposition walk out, Jharkhand Assembly today passed the supplementary budget of Rs 5452.06 crore of this fiscal.

Accusing the Raghubar Das government of its failure in controlling corruption and announcing domicile policy, the entire opposition staged a walk-out when Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy was replying over a cut motion brought by the opposition against the supplementary budget.

Before the walkout, leader of opposition and former chief minister Hemant Soren said the government had claimed it would spend 50 per cent of the main budget in six months, but only 17 per cent could be spent so far.

He sought to know how could the rest 33 per cent funds be spent in just one month.

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) MLA Pradip Yadav accused the government of protecting the corrupt, contrary to its claim of curbing corruption.

In his reply, the parliamentary affairs minister claimed that the government has reined in corruption and developmental schemes would be seen on the ground in the next few months.

The Jharkhand government would implement Food Security Act from September, he said.
