: The Sub-Collector of this major fireworks centre, Amar Kushwaha, today launched the "Our Town Clean Town" scheme in the revenue division.
He instructed the Commissioners of Srivilliputhur, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi and Sattur to begin cleaning programme in a phased manner and ensure at least two wards are thoroughly cleaned in each phase.
Sivakasi is home to major fireworks manufacturers, who supply crackers to all big cities during Diwali, New Year and other festivals.
