Forty-five people were arrested in Andhra Pradesh after police and forest officials conducted raids at seven forest areas across the state and seized 235 redsanders logs.
According to forest officials, a team led by DFO Sivani Dogra, seized 39 redsanders logs and arrested 39 persons belonging to Allagadda of Kurnool district in K G Penta forest area yesterday.
Officials also seized two vans carrying banana and papaya fruits, 2 two-wheelers and two other vehicles besides Rs 60,000 cash from the smugglers.

Forty-nine red sanders logs were seized in Mudumpadu beat and Kolimitta areas and four persons were held in this connection, said Forest Officer Abdul Khader.
In Rajampeta, 30 redsanders logs and a van was seized. Also, two persons were arrested, forest officer Vijayakumar said.
In Nandalur forest beat, 42 logs and a vehicle was seized by forest officials and two persons were arrested while Mydukur police seized 32 logs, 2 two-wheelers and arrested seven persons when they were transporting logs in an auto, said Circle inspector B V Siva Reddy.
