Oxford University Press (OUP) today announced the launch of the Hindi online dictionary.
Hindi is the ninth language to become part of the Oxford Global Languages (OGL) programme which has led to the development of a Hindi-Hindionline dictionary, OUP said in a release.
Stating that the Hindi site will be supported by a 'Language Champion', who will provide strategic advice and help grow awareness of the initiative, it said Dr Poonam NigamSahay, Associate Professor at Ranchi University, is the HindiLanguage Champion.

OGL is one of the "most significant" projects of OUP which aims to build dictionaries and lexicographical resourcesfor around 100 of the world's languages and to make themavailable online.
