Prices of palmolein and soyabean oils rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on increased offtake by vanaspati millers to meet seasonal demand and a firm global trend.
Castor oil in the non-edible section also went up on increased offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said increased buying by vanaspati millers and a firm global trend mainly led to the rise in palmolein and soyabean oil prices.

Meanwhile, palm oil futures rose 0.6 per cent to 2,326 ringgit a metric tonne on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.
In the national capital, palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils moved up by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,050 and Rs 5,900 per quintal respectively. Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) also edged up by a similar margin to Rs 4,300 per quintal.
Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils too ruled higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,000 and Rs 6,700 per quintal respectively.
In the non-edible section, castor oil rose by Rs 50 to Rs 9,750-9,850 per quintal.
